Nutritional Therapy for Vegetarians
and Vegans
Helping you get everything your body needs from a Vegetarian or Plant-Based diet
Confused about how to follow a vegetarian or plant-based diet whilst making sure your body gets all the vitamins and nutrients it needs to thrive? As a registered nutrition practitioner, I work with clients who have a whole host of dietary requirements and preferences. However, I see more and more people who have stopped eating meat, a lot of whom are vegetarian or 100% plant-based. I am also often contacted by people who simply want to include more plant-based meals in their diet.
There are various reasons why people might choose a plant-based diet – ranging from environmental and ethical concerns to health matters. Studies also show that people who follow a predominantly plant-based diet have a reduced risk of developing heart disease, the majority of cancers, type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome. It can help support a healthy gut and hormonal health. The amount of positive scientific data demonstrating this is overwhelming. However, there can be potential pitfalls when making the move to plant-based eating, which is why it’s crucial to be well informed to ensure we are getting the optimum nutrition from our meals.
